Cooperation and International Projects
The College has a wide network at national and international level through ongoing research projects and the participation of its members in various scientific committees. During the reporting period, the collaboration with the first Anneliese Maier Research Award Winner (2018–2023) of the UDE, Prof. Sylvia Walby OBE: Professor of Sociology, Director, Violence and Society Centre, City, University of London, UK, which will result in the joint publication of a Special Section on Comparative Gender Regimes in the journal Social Politics, as well as a DFG grant “Initiation of International Cooperation: The Development of an Inter-regional comparative research perspective on changes in labor markets and labor migration in Japan and Germany” (2018–2019) deserve special mention. The cooperation with Prof. Mari Osawa, Director, Institute of Social Science, University of Tokyo within the framework of a JSPS Grants-in-aid for Basic Research (A) (2016–2019) was continued. EKfG also achieved international visibility through its cooperation with the European Platform of Women Scientists EPWS.
At the level of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr), EKfG is one of the founding institutions of the Gender Research at the Universities of the University Alliance Ruhr Initiative (GeFoR). Together with the Marie Jahoda Center for International Gender Studies at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum, founded in 2019, a MERCUR.Strategy Grant for strengthening gender research in the UA Ruhr was successfully acquired in 2019.
