paluno – The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology
paluno – The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology – was founded in 2010 as a research institute of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Duisburg-Essen. paluno’s success is reflected among other things in its growing number of faculty and staff, with eight professors and around 100 academic staff currently conducting research at the institute. One of paluno’s unique characteristics is its strong combination of basic and applied research surrounding the development and operation of innovative software systems.
paluno works with its partners in various research and service projects to develop scientifically sound and practically relevant methods and technological solutions for the software systems of today and tomorrow. It is part of a strong national and international research network of notable companies and research institutions.
The “digital connected world” is the main focus of paluno’s research interest and includes topics such as the internet of things, internet of services, and big data.
paluno offers extensive conceptual support to digital enterprises in areas ranging from requirements engineering, specifications and software architectures to mobilization of existing application landscapes. Cooperation takes place in joint research projects as well as in the form of consulting and expert studies, software prototypes and training offerings.
