The main research fields of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology are energy technology, radio systems, medical technology, and micro- and nano­electronics. The 20 professors here work closely with the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems in Duisburg and IMST GmbH in Kamp-Lintfort.
