- Dr. Philipp Dammann, neurosurgeon, received the 2010 Traugott Riechert award of the German Society for Neurosurgery (DGNC), endowed with 5000 euros.
- Dr. Oliver Kraff was awarded the Toshiba Research Award of the German Society for Medical Physics (DGMP e.V.) in 2010 for his outstanding scientific work on “An eightchannel phased array RF coil for spine MR imaging at 7 Tesla”.
- Prof. Dr. David G. Norris was President of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in 2010.
- Prof. Dr. Mark E. Ladd has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine since 2010.
- Dr. Michael Küpper, Dr. Dagny Holle, Dr. Karsten Wrede and Dr. Lale Umutlu received a scholarship from the internal research programme of the Faculty of Medicine Essen ( IFORES) to fund a sabbatical in 2010-2011 at the Erwin L. Hahn Institute; Dr. Tobias Schoemberg and Dr. Anja Fischer have been funded by an IFORES scholarship since 2011.
- Dipl.-Ing. Stephan Orzada received the 3rd place Gorter Award of the German Section of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine in 2011 for “Time Interleaved Acquisition of Modes (TIAMO)”.
- Prof. Dr. Mark E. Ladd was awarded an “ERC Advanced Investigators Grant” in 2011 for his excellent work and received 2.1 million euros to support his research at the Erwin L. Hahn Institute.
