Engineering

Research at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering focuses on the main 
areas of power and process engineering, product engineering, logistics, mechatronics, ship technology and nanotechnology. The Department plays an important role in two major cooperative research institutions, Collaborative Research Centre SFB 445 and Research Training Group 1240. It works 
closely with four affiliated institutes, the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology (IUTA), the IWW Water Research Institute, the Development Centre for Ship Technology and Transport Systems (DST) and the Fuel Cell Research Center (ZBT).
