- Dr. Andreas Rennings became a member of the “DFG-Exzellenzakademie Medizintechnik über molekulare Bildgebung” in 2010, after receiving the VDE and the UDE PhD awards in 2009.
- Professor Heinz Fissan (retired) was appointed “Fellow of the American Association for Aerosol Research” for his work in the field of aerosol sciences.
- Dr. Simon Halm received the innovation award of the Sparkasse Niederrhein in 2010 for the best dissertation.
- In November 2009, Dr. Andreas Matiss received the Information Technology Society (ITG) award.
