International networking

Water research is increasingly being connected internationally in order to jointly tackle global challenges in the water sector. Integrated in a worldwide network of scientific institutions, industrial R&D facilities, technology companies, standardisation institutions, associations and authorities, IWW is, among others, represented in the Stakeholder Advisory Group of the “Joint Programme Initiative – JPI Water”. IWW is using its membership of “Water Europe” (www.watereurope.eu) as an additional opportunity to contribute to the shaping of European research programmes. Water Europe brings together participants in the entire value chain of the water sector at the European level, and is an officially recognised technical contact for the Directorates-General of the EU Commission. In Water Europe, IWW is leading several thematic working groups.
