Transfer and Sustainability
Strengthening the regional, national and international visibility of the competencies and strengths of the ZLV and active knowledge transfer are important components of the centre’s activities. Thus, the DIALOGistik Duisburg e.V. association is seeking to improve the exchange between industry, science and other regional stakeholders in the key areas of logistics efficiency, innovation management and sustainable management as well as qualification and competence development through regional and international workshops, qualification measures for all levels and target groups of people employed in logistics, and is specifically including SMEs and key external stakeholders with special and established event and transfer formats. DIALOGistik was the starting point for the foundation of startport GmbH as a business incubator and accelerator in Duisburg Inner Harbour. The ZLV is the key scientific partner in the development of innovative digital solutions in start-ups with a logistics and supply chain background.
The ZLV has been involved in various ways in the organisation of scientific events and conferences. At the final conference for the ILoNa project, for example, the interactions between sustainable logistics and lifestyles were discussed. In its 39th and 40th editions, the Colloquium on Ship Technology/Maritime Engineering focused on the tug-of-war between environmental compatibility and economic efficiency in inland navigation. The tenth and eleventh Science Forum on Mobility in Duisburg focused on mobility in times of change and the new dimensions of mobility systems, and with 15 sessions led by twelve ZLV members is the largest ZLV event. The ZLV was also co-organiser of the conference “The Future of Mobility in the Ruhr Area” initiated by KoMet and supported by the cooperation partners Emschergenossenschaft, Stiftung Mercator, Stiftung Zollverein and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr.
