Intro
The Centre for Logistics and Traffic (Zentrum für Logistik und Verkehr, ZLV) is a nationally and internationally prominent science centre for a comprehensive spectrum of logistical and transport issues. It contributes substantially to the JUS through its internationally visible excellence in mobility and logistics research. Outstanding here is the unique combination of competence fields for logistics, mobility and transport from eight faculties and the resulting breadth of inter- and transdisciplinary research and innovation projects. In specific projects with commercial and social partners, the ZLV addresses fundamental and long-term issues and strengthens the necessary discourse.
In addition, the ZLV is intensively involved within the UDE in organising the Urban Systems/Joint Centre Urban Systems (JUS) main research area. It contributes topics from the fields of urban mobility, logistics and supply, adding to the comprehensive spectrum of scientific work at ZLV.
This open understanding of logistics is a working basis for the ZLV as an inter- and transdisciplinary science centre with a strong international orientation. Logistics as both an applied and fundamental systems science places high demands on interdisciplinary and international research.
