paluno – The Ruhr Institute for Software Technology
Digital software services will increasingly merge with physical goods and objects, and the future high-speed networks will offer almost unlimited connectivity. As a result, software-intensive systems and applications will become inherently more interconnected and therefore considerably more complex. Present trends such as cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, ultra large-scale systems and big data are examples of such developments.
Mastering the technical and professional complexity and flexibility of future service-based systems during their development and operation will present software project teams with ever greater cognitive challenges. paluno is responding to these new challenges with developments such as the Interaction Room, which supports communication and an understanding of the systems and of the related risks among all the stakeholders in complex software development projects. Such new approaches developed by paluno are tested and improved in cooperation with industry to achieve validated results for technology transfer.
