Biology and Geography

In the Didactics of Biology research group led by Professor Angela Sandmann, the DFG Research Unit and DFG Research Training Group “Teaching and Learning of Science” are continuing. Research includes measuring performance and competence modelling, context-oriented learning, the quality of teaching, and increasing professionalism among teachers. These topics are also being addressed in the BMBF’s “Biology in Context” project.
This focus of research is set to undergo further development in future with new professorships in the Didactics of Biology.
