Empirical Educational Research

The future plans of the Centre for Empirical Educational Research include continuing and expanding existing coordinated research programmes and strengthening present activities in the education of junior researchers, with the overall aim of raising the national and international profile of Educational Research as a Main Research Area. The ZeB is currently planning to support junior researchers in preparing foreign research visits and attending conferences to enable them to present their findings to a national and international audience.
For the researchers in science education and educational science, initial contacts for collaboration and projects with a research group from Switzerland are already being made.
To strengthen the profile of the University of Duisburg-Essen in this Main Research Area, work is also underway on the introduction of a Master/PhD programme in Empirical Educational Research. In the long term, one of the aims is to internationalise this programme and offer students the opportunity to attend and receive credits for courses abroad.
