Engineering
Research activities within this department focused on the following main areas:
- information technology and nanotechnology,
- microelectronics, microsystems engineering and computer & systems engineering,
- communication technology and communication systems,
- power engineering, automation and control engineering.
Outstanding results were achieved in the various fields of research. Many new projects – fundedby the DFG, EU, BMBF, BMWi and individual industrial companies – were acquired and undertaken by the department. In 2007 and 2008,external funds to the tune of some 8 million were implemented.
