Essen College of Gender Studies
Outlook
By bringing together the interdisciplinary expertise and research interests of its members, the College offers a powerful platform for planning, acquisition and implementation of joint projects. In addition to strengthening and establishing gender research as a cross-cutting research approach, the College will continue to give priority to promoting young researchers and expanding its existing portfolios. The College will deepen the cooperation with the faculties and extend its consultancy and support offerings with respect to the strategic development of research-oriented gender workshops for joint projects and graduate colleges in all disciplines. Projects currently in preparation include developing a concept for a University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) initiative to support young gender researchers in cooperation with the UA Ruhr partner universities (Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University and the University of Duisburg-Essen), possibly also including International Research Universities Network (IRUN) partner universities, as well as an EKfG award for young academics working in the field of gender and diversity research.
